Bruce Williams will return to the Touring Car Masters this weekend at Winton in partnership with automotive parts giant ACDelco.
After stepping aside from racing last year to focus on the publishing of Auto Action magazine, Williams is returning with pride to the series and very excited to announce ACDelco will sponsor his Holden Torana SLR5000.
“It’s fantastic to have such an iconic name in partnership with our 2017 TCM program,” Williams said.
“I’m proud to be representing ACDelco and I’m sure our stunning new look will turn a few heads.”
ACDelco is a global leader in automotive replacement parts with 100 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket.
The brand specialises in batteries, brakes, batteries, filters, spark plugs, oils and more and has been the brand of choice for auto parts professionals in the industry for a century.
“ACDelco is a great brand and a product range I know well and use regularly,” Williams said.
“ACDelco have supported my racing over many years, way back in the early days of HQ Holdens, AUSCAR, Formula Holden and our Supercar Commodore.”
Steven Warner, marketing manager at ACDelco said sponsoring Williams’s Touring Car Masters SLR5000 Torana was a “good fit for the brand”.
“We are very excited to be associated with the Touring Car Masters Series and to be joining forces with Bruce and his SLR5000 program.
“TCM is a very popular motorsport category with enthusiasts,” Warner said.
With a consistent commitment to premium quality, ACDelco strives to use on-track partnerships as a means of raising awareness.
“While the ACDelco brand is well known for its huge range of spark plugs, oil filters and genuine parts that cover the Holden brand, over time the product range has broadened to suit mechanics with a need to service all types of car makes and models,” Warner said.
“We will use the ACDelco Torana to drive sales and awareness of our increased range of products under the ACDelco brand.”
ACDelco has a strong reputation as a premium source for experience, dependability, technology and performance and the brand is supplied by all Holden Dealerships as the aftermarket alternative in every state of Australia.
Williams is looking ahead to being back behind the wheel of his beast after a year away.
“Since the debut of my TCM SLR5000 last year at the Winton Supercar round I have stepped back from racing and I have been focusing on the successful relaunch of Australia’s oldest and much loved Motorsport magazine Auto Action,” he said.
“With the magazine back and a huge success, I decided it was time to get the Torana back onto the track.
“Les Small and I have continued to develop the SLR over the past 12 months and I have been working on putting a program together to run the rest of the 2017 Touring Car Masters series from this weekend’s Winton round onwards,” Williams said.
“We have been away from the track for a while so I’m looking forward to getting back and being competitive amongst some really great drivers including old mates John Bowe, Adam Bressington and Steve Johnson.
“I’m ready to race and I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
